Frequently Asked Questions about Wedding Cakes

DO YOU DELIVER?

Yes, we hand deliver and set up every wedding cake we make, we will liaise with the venue and other suppliers if appropriate to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

CAN I COLLECT MY WEDDING CAKE/ GET SOMEONE ELSE TO COLLECT IT FOR ME?

We strongly advise you not to do this, wedding cakes are fragile and often have a complex set up, you do not need that stress and neither do your friends and family! Let the experts take care of this for you

CAN WE HAVE DIFFERENT FLAVOURS IN EACH TIER?

Yes, of course you can! That way, you can choose something for everyone.

DO YOU HAVE CAKE STANDS TO HIRE?
Yes, we have several cake stands available to hire, we are happy to advise you on the best style to suit your cake design and venue.
DO YOU REQUIRE A DEPOSIT?
Yes. It’s just a ยฃ100 non-refundable booking fee to reserve your date, which will be used towards the total cost of your order.
I DONโ€™T KNOW WHAT I WANT YET!
Thatโ€™s ok, we can work on this together! You can save the date for a ยฃ100 non-refundable booking fee, then we can sort out the design details later on.
CAN I USE DUMMY TIERS TO REDUCE THE COST OF MY WEDDING CAKE?
In short, no. Dummy tiers do not significantly reduce the price as the majority of the cost is in the labour to complete the design, dummies cost as almost as much as the ingredients and take just as much time to decorate as a real cake. Of course, you can still add extra dummy tiers if you want a grander looking cake design, so that you donโ€™t end up with lots of leftover cake.
I HAVE A LOT OF GUESTS, BUT I DONโ€™T WANT A HUGE CAKE!
Thatโ€™s ok, you could choose a smaller design and then opt to make up additional servings with cutting cakes that will go straight into the kitchen to be sliced up.
DO YOU CUT UP THE CAKE?
No, your venue or caterers will do that for you.
DOES THE FLAVOURS WE CHOOSE AFFECT THE PRICE?
Not really. In sponge cake tiers, the cost is negligible between flavours. If you choose to have a fruit cake, then this will increase the cost.
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE BOOK YOU?

We only book up to 18 months in advance. we recommend 6-9 months, but high season dates between May โ€“ September get booked up quite quickly, so as soon as you know your date, get in touch to check our availability!
